Effective Support for Insomnia & Poor Sleep

Hello! I’m Amy, a therapist helping overwhelmed professionals sleep better so they can feel calm, present and fulfilled in work & life.

A bit about me…

As a sleep therapist, I work with adults experiencing trouble sleeping or insomnia.

In therapy, I’ll help you to fall asleep faster and sleep through the night, as well as manage any related anxiety or stress, so you can feel calmer & have more energy for the things that are important to you.

📍 I live in the countryside near Oxford, on the edge of the Cotswolds, but offer online therapy only, allowing you to access support from the comfort of your home.

One of my favourite parts of my work is seeing clients make changes to their sleep they didn’t know were possible - it’s really special seeing the difference therapy can make to people’s lives.

Oh, and outside of the therapy room, I love playing Padel and spending time outdoors in nature exploring with my Labrador Elsa!

Qualifications

I trained with the UK College of Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy to gain my diploma in Cognitive Behavioural Hypnotherapy. This is the main evidence-based hypnotherapy training in the UK, integrating CBT, hypnosis and mindfulness. The course is approved by The British Psychological Society, indicating the high quality of training.

I also have a First Class BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare from Oxford Brookes.

I have regular supervision and am committed to my continuing professional development.

I am fully insured and registered with the General Hypnotherapy Register.

My Therapeutic Approach

When you work with me, I’ll help you get to the root of why you’re still struggling with insomnia or poor sleep.

Together, we’ll identify & address the unique factors maintaining your trouble sleeping, so you can feel more energised and fulfilled in work & life.

I draw on various evidence-based approaches, tailoring therapy to your needs. The two main approaches I use are:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I)

CBT-I focuses on the connection between the way we think, act and how we sleep. It is the gold-standard treatment for insomnia.

Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT)

ACT helps you to navigate challenging thoughts & feelings so you can move towards what matters most to you in life. It has been shown to be effective for anxiety and insomnia in multiple studies.

My Values

Connection

The relationship you have with your therapist is one of the most important aspects of therapy. This is why I offer a free 15-minute chat so you can make sure you feel comfortable working with me and we can make sure I am the right therapist to help you. Collaboration is also a key part of my approach, so it is important you feel you can trust me and are willing to take an active role in therapy.

Compassion

My practice centres around supporting you. I aim to create a nurturing space where you can explore your feelings, while also gently challenging you in ways that will help increase your emotional wellbeing & improve your sleep. Throughout the process I will listen to you and be honest. I encourage you to get curious about your thoughts, feelings and behaviour and begin to observe them non-judgementally.

Growth

My aim is to empower you with the tools to become your own therapist, without being reliant on me for long-term therapy. We will set goals and monitor progress to make sure you are getting what you need from therapy. I also encourage feedback so I can tailor the sessions to you.

It is important for me to grow as a therapist too. My practice is grounded in evidence-based approaches, and I am committed to continuing to learn and improve my knowledge. I also have regular supervision.
