Managing Sleep Anxiety and Calming Your Mind At Night: Podcast Episode

I recently enjoyed chatting all about insomnia and how to manage anxiety around sleep on therapist Jess Eden’s podcast, Anxiously Capable.

As a therapist working with adults experiencing insomnia or trouble sleeping, sleep anxiety is something that pretty much all my clients struggle with to some extent.

The less you sleep, the more anxious you feel, but the more you worry about sleep, the harder it is to get a good night’s rest. It’s exhausting and frustrating.

In this episode we discuss:

  • How insomnia develops

  • What exactly sleep anxiety is and the signs you might be experiencing it

  • Practical tips to calm your racing mind

  • How to stop watching the clock at night and why it matters

  • Ways to reduce sleep perfectionism

  • What to do when you’ve had a bad night’s sleep

  • How to rebuild trust in your ability to sleep
